Strategic Plan of the Marine Science Station
The Marine Science Station (MSS) was founded in the mid of seventies and belongs to Yarmouk University and University of Jordan. The principle of the Marine Science Station (MSS) is to become a scientific institute for research related to the applied and theoretical marine sciences in wide and diverse fields and directly focused in the marine ecology and its components like fish, coral, and sediments, in addition to aquaculture.
The MSS is operating monitoring programs for seawater quality and its impact on marine environment. The increase of the anthropogenic activities along the coast has led to the increase the role of the MSS in providing researchers for different marine fields. The MSS has laboratories and instruments for research and analyses in addition to diving and boat units and dormitories for visiting researchers.
