The monitoring program activities include the collection and analysis of water samples from ten coastal sites and one external site that serves as a monthly reference. Water samples are analyzed for nutrients, chlorophyll, pH, alkalinity, dissolved oxygen, radiation, transparency, temperature and salinity. In addition the monitoring program includes bottom sediment and visual enumeration of the benthic and fish community at eight sites along the Jordanian coast of the Gulf
